Bluetooth Dating

Thursday, August 28, 2008

What are the odds of your significant other knowing how to use a mobile phone or for that matter how to configure a bluetooth? Well you know the answer.

But what is wrong with us? Why can't we walk to the girl standing next to us and tell her - "Hi, I find you pretty, I am so and so... I want to ask you out for coffee"? Instead, we have to use our cellphone that will tell us - "There is a girl right next to you. Do you want to talk?" - Then we will click on TALK and we start the digital conversation, with the girl, standing right next to us.

That is a funny way of looking at it. In reality, speed dating is very much in. There is a market for people who don't want to browse through websites or answer questionnaire such as - "Will you donate your underwear to charity?" - Which eventually will determine their physiological profile. They want a system where as they are crossing the road, the phone buzzes and a face appears on the phone of a person who could be at a distance of 15 feet. They meet, get married and live happily ever after. Well, that was fast! Even at the standards of speed dating, But you got the idea.

Proxidating is one such company providing this service. You download a software in your phone; define your preference, and the phone displays your soulmate when there is a match.

For your note: Japanese people already had these services for a few years now.

No, I actually don't believe in "Computer Matching". But the truth is you never know till you have try it. Why? There is a lot of complexity about falling in love, getting that chemistry, and ultimately living "Happily Ever After". A computer might get you started, but ultimately, YOUR feelings and your heart will be the ones to tell you if that person is the "One" or just another one.
