The media has been digging the life of John Edwards after the news came out of his extramarital affair with a 42 year old campaign employee. Had this been a popular Hollywood personality do you think the media would have paid the same attention and put him under cross wire?
Current Republican presidential candidate John McCain cheated on his former wife after she suffered a catastrophic automobile accident that required 23 operations. The woman with whom he had the affair is none other than his current wife, Cindy, the daughter of a multimillion-dollar beer magnate.
Media-driven sex scandals involving politicians seem to me to be mostly an American phenomenon (please correct me with examples if I'm mistaken). We're just uptight about sex. Some think sex isn't such a big deal most of the time. And infidelity doesn't marks one as unfit to serve.
I as an individual expect some form of integrity from the leaders who are representing our nation. If they lie about small things how we trust them with such a daunting task of managing this country.
Do we set higher standards when politicians are involved in sex scandals? And should Obama include John Edwards as his running mate? Let us know your opinion.

No Obama shouldn't choose edwards as his running mate. He cheated on his ailing wife.
