An elderly couple had been shopping at a grocery store, and the wife decided to steal a can of peaches. The inevitable happened and she was caught. Upon her court date, the judge asked her what she had stolen.

"Your Honor, I stole a can of peaches."

The judge replied, "How many peaches were in the can?"

She said, "Six."

The judge then said, "I will sentence you to six days in jail."

Her husband stood up behind her and replied, "Your Honor, she also stole a can of peas."

Woman, Dating, and Books

Saturday, October 11, 2008

If not all, most women (myself included) loved to read romantic books at any point in our lives. Some more than others, but we all have done this. Well ladies, there is something getting damaged because of this habit. Our dating life, marital relationship, and even the life as a single woman! Do you know why? Because the more, we read about wonderful men who rescued a woman in need, etc. the more we desire to have such a man.

We tend to believe that we will find that "purrrfect man" who will understand each one of our needs and will always know what to do in any given situation. You may say, "Well, I know this can never happen, why would I need you to tell me that?" Because, we do believe this! We do desire and wish for our man to be able to understand everything and most of all to be our bodyguards and heroes. I know, I want that also. But it is not real, and that doesn't make men bad, or less interesting; it just makes them human.

I am not against romantic books... God knows I used to love them! But we have to be down to earth when it comes to our real-life man. Ladies, the books are fun, but sharing your life with a wonderful inperfect man, it's just magnificent. Don't endanger your love life with fantasy, get yourself a real life romance.

Good Luck To You! - By: L.A.

Feng Shui For Dating

Wednesday, October 8, 2008

So lets see, you had a make over, you tried changing your habits, you learnt a new language, you even visited Madam Muamo's tarot reading service across the street but still no luck with lady-love. So lets get to the facts - you’re having difficulties dating, why not use what the Chinese have been using for centuries – Feng Shui.Well I don't know if the Chinese applied this in the field of dating but again why would you care if it works.

The first thing you want to do is to find the relationship areas of your home. Now, there are various types and styles of Feng Shui, so you can find different answers to this area’s location. But your bedroom is a good place to start (ofcourse which other area of the house has the highest concentration of love making).

This is generally considered to be the seat of your love energy. To help inspire new love, make sure you’re not cluttering up your space and that your bed is large enough to accommodate two people (I dont know why someone with single person bed will look for girlfriend... anyway). This doesn’t mean you need to sleep with people, but allowing the space for someone to be in your life eventually is going to help you increase your love energy.

In addition, make sure to remove any evidence of past relationships from your room, that includes all pictures, clothes, chocolate wrappers, hair pins anything that you were holding on to like a psychopath. This will help you to keep positive energy in the space, and it will help you begin to realize just how much possibility there is out there for you and for your romantic life.

Another good thing to do is to place pairs of things in your bedroom, just as you want to be a part of a pair – pairs of candles, photos, vases, condoms etc. These will all help you begin to pull in more love energy. Please dont put condoms that was a joke.

After you comply to the above requirements - give it a week, if nothing happens, wait for our next post.

Estaba totalmente sorprendido, y no pude decir palabra.

Has pasado mi pequeña prueba. No podía tener a un mejor hombre como esposo!'........

Dating after mid-thirties... what a problem!

Today I read a post where mid-aged people described what a problem it is to Date after mid 30s; this is called the "I'm to old to date" syndrome. The majority of this people believe that dating is actually for youngster from early to late 20s. Most of this mid-aged people had gone through a divorce after years of marriage, or had widowed for sometime and lost their touch at dating. This people get terrified of dating or even to be in a non-marital social relationship.

Example of this is Patricia (we are changing the name). She explains that, after her divorce that ended a 32 year marriage, she hated the fact that her friend's circle consisted of couples. Of course after sometime she was feeling all alone and miscomprehended by her friends. She admits to feel lonely, but she is also afraid of taking the first steps to meeting someone else. Another person stated, "I was so scared, my daughter had to lead me by the hand and introduce me to men she thought I might be interested in."

For some people the answer might rely in joining and organization with similar interest; it doesn't have to be of singles with marriage on their minds; but people with similar thoughts, needs, who are mature adults on a recreational and discussion groups. This way you can actually get to know everyone before you take the lead of asking someone out. This is actually one of the best options you can get! It is proven to help you enter the dating world in a slow-comfortable manner and at the same time you will know what is out there for you.

Of course, you always have the internet to find singles. But if what you are looking for is more than just a date search, you are very welcome to check out any recreational group near you. I promise, if you don't find a date... you will make new exciting friends!

Story Of A Faithful Man - Funny!

Thursday, September 25, 2008

I was very happy! My girlfriend and I had been together for more than a year, when we decided to get married. My parents helped in all they could and my friends were all with me. My girlfriend was a dream!
There was only one thing I did not like, her best friend. She was very smart, sexy, and sometimes would flirt with me, which made me angry.

One day she calls me (the friend) to ask for my help with the wedding arrangements. Of course, for this I needed to go to her house! So I went. She was by herself, and when I got there she told me that since I was about to get married to her best-friend and since she had developed some feelings towards me, it was better to make love before I officially gave my life to her friend. Imagine!

What could I say? I was so shocked. So, sh said, "I will go to my bedroom, if you want this, you will go behind me". I admire her while she was walking up the stairs towards the bedroom. I got up and when out the front door; to my surprise, my girlfriend was standing there and with tears in her eyes she said. "I'm so happy and proud of you. You have passed my small test. I couldn't have a better man to marry!...

Moral Of The Story- Always leave your condoms in your car!!!

Love In Medieval Times

Love during Medieval Times was considered to be pleasured, suffered, obsessed with, and most of the time it was kept secret by the lover's. According to some, "the easy attainment of love makes it of little value; difficulty of attainment makes it prized". So in order for you to be "loved forever", you had to play "hard to get". Even today we pass this saying to our daughters.

At that time love and marriage had nothing in common; a Countess once said "we declare that love cannot exist between two people who are married to each other".
This is because at the time when the wife was disobedient, she would be beaten by her husband. An example of this from the 14th century, "Her husband consulted a surgeon and made a deal for the mending of two broken legs. He then went home and broke both his wife's legs with a pestle, remarking that in the future she wouldn't go far to break his commandment".

In other manuscripts you find other names for love, like courtly love which is believed to be the starting point of the kind of love we know today.

For me it is very interesting how things change so dramatically. Before, the women were beaten when disobedient to their husbands. Today, the law is by our side most of the time. One thing is for sure, it doesn't matter how love is view or how it comes to you. Everybody has the same fate... to fall in love.

You think dating is hard?

Wednesday, September 17, 2008

You think dating is a hard thing, and for that matter you have decided not to do it ever again. I got news for you pal! While searching a topic for this post I came across sites and articles about deaf dating.

I will not go into details on Deaf Dating because it is a sensitive topic and it can be misinterpreted. But I will accentuate the fact that dating for deaf people and for this matter, mute people as well, has to be the most difficult of all.

I read some articles on how they try to make themselves understood by their dates doing the whole lip-reading technique and more just to find out hearing people get distress and leave. It is amazing to read how many deaf-hearing couples (a deaf and a hearing partner) get affected because of how difficult it is to maintain a good communication between them. That is why someone thought on making it more easy and creating a deaf dating site. There they can find deaf singles and enjoy sharing their life with someone who understands their needs and lifestyles.

Let me make it more clear for you, It will not be harder than this! Try communicating with someone of another culture, when you don't know their language and you will have an idea of how hard it is. So, stop giving excuses to yourself and get back in the game. Anyone can find love!

Matchmaking with no match - A funny Story

I think most of us have played matchmaking roles by hooking up friends, colleagues etc. No matter if our friend is a nerd or ugly-betty we make sincere efforts to find common grounds, even if there are none.

This happened few years back when my friend just got divorced and we were trying to hook him up with a suitable girl. It happened that coincidentally a mother of one of our friend was looking for a suitable match for a co-worker. As she found out of the empty slot she immediately pushed forward the girls phone number to my friend. Seeing a glimpse of raindrops over a parched land, he fell for the bait.

Well the next day he received a call from this girl, she sound sweet, but she spoke very slow as if she had a prompter. Anyway the old lady followed up the same day like any dedicated matchmaker and fixed a date for them. My friend went for the date during the lunch time, all dressed up. An hour later he came back, very mad - what happened I asked ? Man that old lady, what she thinks I am? Mother Teresa of dating world - that girl was fat as a hippo, ugly like hell, instead of eyebrows she had a line drawn with a pencil, her hair had a florescent highlighter and as it was not enough - she can't speak English. "I felt as if two dumb people were having conversation" he said.

I asked how you managed to run away, he said as soon he saw her there was a call - it was as if god was following his thoughts. He said "Oh I am so sorry, that was my boss, we have an emergency". Knowing him I knew that phone call was a life saver.

Some tips on how to ditch a bad date.

Christmas is there... and you don't have a date yet!

Friday, September 12, 2008

It's Mid-September, after Halloween, next month, we will be confronted (yet again) with another wonderful joyous Christmas! Although this is my favorite time of the year, I most say, not everyone is as jolly and happy about it as me. My best-friend (for example) has never find a reason to celebrate the season, sadly for her kids, there is no Christmas at all for them.

But about those who feel hunted by the idea of spending the season alone? Without that special someone to share memories with, nor romantic moments? Guess what my friend!! Christmas is so much more than having a romance, or having that special someone with you.

The best thing of Christmas is the fact that it is all about family, friends, and celebrating all the joy we have received throughout the year. Amazing isn't it? Don't worry about bringing someone to meet your family and friends on Christmas! You don't need it! Enjoy the season, no worries. Leave that for next year!

Wild Dating

Tuesday, September 9, 2008

We as parents have responsibility towards our children. They look upon us for advice, guidance and as very often we are their role models. So that day when I read this article on wild dating, I decided to explain this to my boy - the article was about a software program that has a database containing information on sex, age and weight and they use that information to perform match making.

I explained him that his days of running around without a soul mate is over. Soon he will find a girl to date, have offspring's and a family of his own. He knows that I write a blog on dating, so he was very enthusiastic and curious about learning more about the software. I explained in details how the program works, how easy it will be to find a match for him - with his looks I realized he was eager to start with the beta version.

But when I told him that it will be another 2 years before which the program will hit the market - he was extremely sad, he looked down and walked away. It was heart breaking - I picked him and whispered "you want some Sausage", there was a sparkle in his eyes - ah I am so sorry; did I mentioned that my boy is a handsome black and white 4 year old Shitzu and the software service is called 'StudBooks' that is used to match zoo animals in not so wild world. Please feel free to pass it on to your kids.

"Till Death Due Us Apart"

Monday, September 8, 2008

If you are like most of us, you would have already spend a couple of hours of your life wondering what makes a relationship one that will last a lifetime. With the increasing rate of global divorce (not just in america) it is completely understandable to be concerned or confused with the "loved forever" idea that everyone dreams of.

The truth is that most of us go looking for the person that has the best qualities considering how WE want him/her to be like; we decided at one time in our life that our special someone will have a lot of things in common with us. Probably we like the same plays, movies, even the same food! Others think that the less things in common you have, the better you can compliment each other. Have you ever heard that saying, "Opposite poles attract"?

There is no magic potion or secret for everlasting love. One musician explained she got divorced due to the difference of music her and her husband played. She was a Folk musician and he was into rhythm and blues. They literally couldn't play music together and because of this, eventually they split up.

It is not the bond of music, it's the bond of the same kind of music that is essential.
